LynLegaSea was founded from a lifelong commitment to serving families with compassion, dignity, and heartfelt care.
My journey began in 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland, where I worked as a Memorial Counselor in a cemetery. It was during this time that I discovered my true calling—supporting families through moments of loss, offering guidance and reassurance during some of life’s most difficult transitions. What began as a role soon became a purpose that has guided me for more than three decades.
Over the next 30+ years, I had the privilege of serving families across multiple states and within many facets of care. My path led me to the Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I was chosen by a patient’s family to create a new, patient- and family-centered program designed to bring comfort and ease to those awaiting treatment. Originally funded through a special family grant, the program later became a full-time, hospital-supported position—allowing me to provide meaningful support to patients and their loved ones for five impactful years.
My calling then expanded into the field of Organ Transplant, where I served as a Community Outreach Coordinator and later in a deeply personal role supporting donor families. I stood alongside families in their most vulnerable moments, offering compassion, presence, and guidance as they prepared to say goodbye before their loved one’s gift of life continued through donation. This work was both humbling and profoundly meaningful.
In the years that followed, I managed family service departments for cemeteries in both Maryland and Pittsburgh. During this time—and especially following the COVID pandemic—I witnessed a growing desire among families for cremation and for more personalized, environmentally conscious alternatives to traditional burial.
Now living in the beautiful coastal region of South Carolina, I felt a renewed calling to continue this work in a way that honors both families and nature. LynLegaSea was created to offer a peaceful and meaningful farewell through cremation scattering at sea—one that reflects love, legacy, and the serenity of the ocean.
It is my honor to walk beside you and your family, offering support, care, and guidance as you celebrate a life well lived and create a beautiful final ocean tribute.
